The store promotes the beauty of the Mexican national textiles , it is talk of a large expanse of artistic expression, elaborate works that keep it a fascinating world of colors, symbols and customs, various technicalities and iconography, are projected in the hands of women that dedicated their life in their delicate looms.

Mexican Textiles that are sold are from ethnic groups in the states of Puebla, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Chiapas and is currently developing a project so that it can work with Tarahumaras. In Mexican textiles we can find blouses, shirts, pillows, sheets, shawls, dresses, etc.

Pottery Casa Cortes

The Pottery is one of the oldest and ancient craft industry of Mexico, in Mesoamerican chronology are located in 2,500 B. C. Clay is a material that allow the craftsmen manipulate with extraordinary skill and knowledge, developing both everyday objects and ceremonial use, innovations came with the arrival of the Spaniards contributing finishes such as glaze and enameled. The Pottery is a masterful natural combination soil, water, fire then are blended for great art.


As a starting point we are located in the old barrio de la luz , instead keeping the old craft of pottery and an opportunity to meet Angel Cortes, a potter who has 50 years of experience manipulating the clay in his studio, which has more than 100 years old and as part of its heritage we can see the second largest oven of Puebla .Angel invites us into his home to see the thousands of figures that decorate its walls that speak of loneliness, love, angst and inspiration that saved him, doing a time travel, living stories of ancient Mexico, reflected in the architecture of this home.

We can see that the technique Angel works is as to the pottery 50 years ago or more, because his technique is the one his grandfather used to use and today only remains in the hands of this man, a tradition that is transmitted from generation to generation and is extinguished as it has been replaced because of plastics and disposables industrialization, lowering job, that’s why the younger generation is no longer interested in working this old craft.

The strength and charisma of Angel Cortes has made ​​his heart remains in force potter, defending his technique that leads us to appreciate his works ranging from huge pots, fireplaces, flatware, little pitchers pulqueros, incense, with a glaze finish, which is a gloss black, colored characteristic of Puebla pottery . The Potter Angel Cortes mark the difference between his colleagues is the only to create unique pieces as sculptures, faces, hearts, angels and special works for the pleasure of his customers.

Talavera La Colonial

Talavera is a mixture of black and white clay, this clay is washed and then filtered to retain the finest particles, is how we proceed to the modeling of the piece with the help of a winch, this piece is allowed to dry 15-20 days depending on the size of it, after this process, the part is baked at a temperature of 850 ° C .After a white colored glaze is applied , then be painted by hand, applied designs are embodied in each piece own creativity of each artisan; so as baking again it happens at the end. Typical colors decorated Talavera is blue with white, but with the passage of time and demand have added other colors like green, yellow and red.

Talavera La Colonial by Ricardo Ramos Rosas was founded in 1990, the name "La Colonial" is preserved since 1959 and formerly devoted to sell typical sweets. The building that is located about 1920, the building was remodeled in its interior in the year 1985 keeping only the original facade, the building was used as a neighborly neighborhood and manufactures textiles. La Colonial produces vases, dishes, plates, vases, among other pieces of which dishes are the best sellers.
